So Gone
Irish Millie
"So Gone" is a song that holds a very special place in my heart. It is a tribute to my dear friend Pius, a kind and talented musician who was always there for me. Pius had an incredible way of making those around him feel seen and appreciated, always telling me how proud he was of my achievements. He had a tradition of calling me every day, his support a constant source of comfort and encouragement.
Tragically, Pius passed away in January 2023, just after the New Year. The loss was profound and left a void that words can hardly describe. The inspiration for "So Gone" came to me while I was on a bus, a moment that felt almost otherworldly. Pius used to say that his music came to him from the heavens, and I like to believe that this tune was his way of reaching out to me from beyond.
This song is not just about loss but also about the enduring connection we have with those we love, even after they are gone. It reflects the pain of saying goodbye, the cherished memories, and the journey toward healing. Through "So Gone," I hope to honour Pius’s memory and share the solace that music can bring in times of sorrow. lyrics Wish we could go back in time To when life had no rhyme or reason We met in a white house Varnished by the clouds of the summer season
You were a friendly face Met and locked away by greivin’ Your heart was such a flame Lovely I couldn't believe you were leavin’
And I keep tellin’ myself
No you're not gone You are not so gone You are not so gone You just say the word and I'll hear your voice again
It's not been long You are not so gone You are not so gone Should've been around Don't say you understand
When lungs were inflamed You and I broke away from being They said you couldn't be nothin’ But inside you I saw something growing
You'd sit there and tell me to be myself “I'm proud of you you're not anyone else” Well I've gotta go now I'm gonna miss my class Maybe someday soon I will see you at last
No you're not gone You are not so gone You are not so gone You just say the word and I'll hear your voice again
It's not been long You are not so gone You are not so gone Should've been around Don't say you understand Cuz to tell the truth I took you For granted
I've been missing you forever Even though we only talked last December You can talk to me whenever It'll be you and me But I can't say that I understand I took you for granted
No you're not gone You are not so gone You are not so gone You just say the word and I'll hear your voice again
It's not been long You are not so gone You are You are You are
No you're not gone You are not so gone You are not so gone You just say the word and I'll hear your voice again
It's not been long You are not so gone You are not so gone Should've been around Don't say you understand Cuz to tell the truth I took you For granted
